NEW ORLEANS -- As BP inched closer to permanently sealing the blown-out well in the Gulf of Mexico, congressional investigators railed the company and Coast Guard for part of the cleanup effort, saying too much toxic chemical dispersant was used.
The investigators said the U.S. Coast Guard routinely approved BP requests to use thousands of gallons of chemical a day to break up the oil in the Gulf, despite a federal directive to use the dispersant rarely. The Coast Guard approved 74 waivers over a 48-day period after the Environmental Protection Agency order, according to documents reviewed by the investigators. Only in a small number of cases did the government scale back BP's request.
Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., released a letter Saturday that said instead of complying with the EPA restriction, "BP often carpet bombed the ocean with these chemicals and the Coast Guard allowed them to do it."

Several late nights (after midnight) I would make my trek to 7/11 to buy stamps, cat food, et cetera.
A gaggle of very personable young employees from 18-22 would greet me.
They all were surrounded by their boyfriends and co-workers (from other shifts). They would gather in front for their nightly cigaret break.
I did not care that their off-the-clock fellow employees were helping them stock the shelves. I didn't care that their boyfriends were helping them stock the shelves, mop the floor. I did not even care that employees from different shifts who were not on the clock would go behind the counter, ring up their own cigarets and then walk away as if they were in their own home.
I would tell them they could get in trouble. But alas, I am not their boss. Just a "regular" customer who shops at this 7/11 several times a day, over 6 times per week.
What did bother me, however, was their NOT carding, asking for, looking at IDs of people who bought cigarets. Whether or not the purchaser was a friend, a peer, or a stranger from Tibet - most companies have a policy to card anyone who looks under the age of 40 or 30 or even 100.
Regardless, it is illegal to sell to minors. Not to card is foolish.
Did you know, even if you were over 18 and legally able to buy cigarets, that if you did not have your ID on you to present to the clerk, LEGALLY, they cannot sell you cigarets (carry your license or ID).
I needed stamps again, so this morning I went in. I talked to the Manager/Owner. He was telling me his employees were asking to have me banned (he said this three times). I told him what they were doing. He said do not tell them, tell him. I told him it all is on his own store video.
He said he told his employees he would not ban me.
EXCUSE ME. Obviously this grown man and owner of this franchised 7/11 did or did not realize his employees wanted me banned because I was spoiling their party.
It did not settle into his head that I was telling his employees AND him - laws were being broken.
PARENT - an employer checks references for employees. PARENTS - check references on an employer. This 7/11 has had previous arrests of employees selling to minors. If a manager turns the other way while your young daughter or son is selling cigarets or alcohol to minors - well, will they walk away when your son or daughter is jailed? Will they help pay the bond? Court costs? NO. But, employers who turn their backs on illegal sales of items to minors ARE liable to you in a civil court. If they allowed your son/daughter to sell illegally to minors, it does not erase their responsibility, but it will help you get money to pay your kids fines.
WHAT TO DO? I immediately filed a report with the Cedar Park Police and the Office of the District Attorney and TABC.
Most likely there will be a sting. Or perhaps a subpoena to see the videos. Or TABC will contact them.
It is hard enough to raise young teenagers and young adults - but when you can't even trust their employers will do right by them by enforcing proper work ethics AND most importantly, abiding by the law - well, it is time to move on.
I will NEVER step foot into this haven for illegal activities again.
Maybe I won't have to.
Responsible citizens and the authorities will most likely close it down and/or jail the owner and the kids responsible.

Harassment by State and Federal Law is not telling an employee of any Retail Store that "I will have you fired."
If a person believes they received poor customer service, a customer can relate their feelings. It is protected by the first Amendment of the United States.
On Sunday, July 25, 2010, approximately 10:45 pm, employee Nathan Teets indicated as per Rhonda Ramos, Tiger Mart would no longer be able to offer me customer service.
Nathan indicated that both he and Rhonda were harassed. I asked him how? "By telling us you were going to have us fired." was his response.
I have sent a notarized copy of this letter to Tiger Mart / Exxon Corporate Office and the District Attorney, Cedar Park and the State of Texas. I am seeking legal action and will pursue this in Civil Court.
On its face, this is discrimination.
I also believe that I have witnessed Tiger Mart employees, during all shifts, selling cigarets - in my estimation - to minors. These customers were never asked for any type of identification. Tiger Mart CANNOT sell cigarets to minors or those without proper legal identification.
Additionally, on graveyard, Nathan Teets has also had his friend sitting on counters, near the office door as well as Nathan, on many occasions, has been in front of the store smoking cigarets.

Those who do not declare income - when you try to get your social security (if there is any left), you better be ready NOT to complain when you do not get any ...
And if you do not get any social security and you end up on some type of public assistance - well, you did it to yourself. You screwed yourself. You screwed your neighbors who now will have to pay taxes so you can get some sort of public assistance.
My heart bleeds for the fishermen and their families. I am saddened to hear you have no proof or paperwork or W-2 or any documentation of how much you made last month, last year, the previous year.
Even if you went to a small claim's court, you would lose. You have no proof - no paperwork.
It would be easy for anyone to say - I made $27,000.00 a month BEFORE the oil spill. It would be easier to say I made $57,000.00 a month before the oil spill.
BOTH of those amounts could be true. But do you have paperwork? Do you have copies of the taxes you payed, the forms you filed to the government stating business loss, business gain, net, gross ...?
The spill was a dastardly accident. BP Oil tried to cut corners. They fucked everyone.

I knew Louis Armstrong for a few decades.
His sterility and/or virility never came up.

You were called out for lying. By your own words ... You have lied and made false promises from the get go ... This is a FACT - proven throughout your first year. YOU and your Democrat co-horts are running scared. You haven't been listening. Are you listening now or are you just lying again? It is a transparent fact - by your own words and actions you are a liar. I have respect for the office of the President. I have no respect or faith in liars. You do the math. The truth can never be a lie. You finally closed your remarks with - "God bless America." Did you mean it? GOD knows .......
NBC seems to be falling apart. They need to revamp. They did it with Leno. They never should have changed what was not broken. MSNBC is broken. Keith and Chris and Rachel - still out of touch. They are broken. They border of silly. Actually, Rachel always appears to be silly. There is a permanent - arrogant "slight" grin, turn of her lips - that is cemented upon her face. She acts like she knows something we don't. She reminds me of Nancy Pelosi. They both look tired. Their spirit is broken. Time to quietly walk away. Their footlights have faded.
A leader does not have to be likeable. He has to be knowledgeable. A leader does not have to be loveable. He has to possess wisdom. A leader does not have to be arrogant. He must have humility. For in the U.S.A. - a leader is elected by the People - for the People. A leader is the mouthpiece of the people. He does not put words in the people's mouth. He is the voice of the people. A leader cannot be a leader if he has no followers. A leader cannot be a leader if he has no respect.
Hussein Obama does not share his thoughts. He gives his opinions.
Oddly - he seems to talk down to people. Look down upon his subjects.
There is an undeniable arrogance. It is not innate self-assurance - it is arrogance. It appears that he is looking - not at you - but through you. Believe as I do - or be damned.
And if you speak out or call him out for his inconsistencies - he gets mad at you. He talks down to you. He seems to pout. He cares too much if people like him.
Yet - and oddly - he does what he wants to do anyway.
If you say the building is burning. He insists it is not - and he walks in anyway. If you say you are spending to much money - the wallet it empty - he still finds more to spend.
You learn from doing. You learn from listening. You combine the two. You utilize history. If you are wise - you can alter the future by not letting history repeat itself. Learn from the mistakes of your past - otherwise, you will continue to make the same mistakes in your future.
To lead, a President must listen.
When your would-be followers are screaming, "You are heading toward a cliff." And yet, you glibly and arrogantly walk on ... when you hurl over the cliff - you have no one but yourself to blame for the fall.

Martha watches as her supporter knocks down a reporter when she refuses to answer the reporter's question. Poor - silly - stupid Martha. Living in a misspelled world - where there are no terrorists - ONLY your supporters who come to your rescue when you cannot answer a question.
The manager/owner hung up on me. He said he was not going to ship my item. I paid 75 percent ($139.90) via money order and $46.00 dollars via paypal. I emailed 3 times and called twice for tracking numbers. Their email dated Dec. 31st said it was shipped. When I called on January 4th, both the receptionist and owner said it was still on the shipping dock. I understand about shipping over New Year, etc. All they had to do initially was state (on Dec. 31): Item will go out ASAP. Do NOT write/email ITEM WAS SHIPPED. As Judge Judy says: It is a contract. When I asked for tracking info, no one gave it to me. I opened a dispute on paypal. I was told I cost them a $50.00 fee and it was my fault - etc. I was hung up on. For heaven's sake - just be honest. I've never ordered from them before. It is internet ordering. COMMUNICATE - be honest. They stole my money. They steal from senior citizens. Profoundly dishonest! I am quite disturbed and have never been treated to shabbily and with so much venom and dishonesty on every level. Legal action is being pursued via New York State attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. THEY were very helpful. MANY, many negative comments have been un-earthed about this dishonorable company. I should have checked them out first!
