Abstinence is not having sex. A person who decides to practice abstinence has decided not to have sex.
How Does It Work?
If two people don't have sex, then sperm can't fertilize an egg and there's no possibility of a pregnancy. Some forms of birth control depend on barriers that prevent the sperm from reaching the egg (such as condoms or diaphragms). Others interfere with the menstrual cycle (as birth control pills do). With abstinence, no barriers or pills are necessary because the person is not having sex.
You don't have to be a virgin to practice abstinence. Sometimes people who have been having sex decide not to continue having sex. Even if a person has been having sex, he or she can still choose abstinence to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the future.
How Well Does It Work?
Abstinence is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Although many birth control methods can have high rates of success if used properly, they can fail occasionally. Practicing abstinence ensures that a girl won't become pregnant because there's no opportunity for sperm to fertilize an egg.
No more taxpayer dollars for low income people who have a choice.
Taxpayers did not get low income women pregnant. They chose.
Use the choice that God gave you. You choose what food to eat, what TV show to watch.
You choose what toothpaste.
Choose if you are going to have sex.
There are consequences to all actions.
Being low income does not mean you are exempt from being responsible.
I am so close monetarily to poverty level - it boggles my mind.
I have to choose two cans of tuna (2 for a dollar) at Safeway (Randalls) than a pound of ground beef. I prefer the beef - but I cannot afford it.
CHOICE! Same with having sex. Unless you're an animal - you have the choice to do it or not to do it.
And you you do have sex - use protection. Not only can you become pregnant with out a condom - you can also get aids.
Low income does not mean you're stupid.
There are people (like politicians) who have high income - now they're stupid!
EXCEPTION: If you are raped and you believe you need an abortion ...
EXCEPTION: If there is a complication during the pregnancy and an abortion would save the life of the Mother ---
Women have the right - legally and morally to determine their fate.
They have the choice. God gives all citizenry of humankind choice - to make decisions.
There is no moral majority or minority that can delegate to you what you can or cannot do to your body.
Abortion is not a moral matter. No matter what a gaggle of people say - it is your body.
Just like it is your ears if you choose to have those "silver dollar" holes in your ears ... or pink hair, or naval rings, or nipple rings, or tattoos ... face painting ... hair colouring ... watching iCarly and/or The Golden Girls ... liking Barbra Streisand or Julie Andrews ....
CHOICE - freedom - life - liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
